Efficiency in solar energy systems is being increased with the correct cable

İstanbul, Türkiye   -   10/11/2020 - 01:00 AM

The 13th of the EIF International Energy Congress and Fair, attended by the giants of the energy sector, was held digitally between 2-6 November. At the fair, which brought together all sectors related to energy, Türk Prysmian Kablo drew attention to the fact that the use of correct cables in solar and wind power projects increases efficiency.

“EIF-13. International Energy Congress and Fair”, organized online between 2-6 November for the first time this year due to the pandemic, brought together national and international representatives of the energy sector, sector stakeholders and decision makers. Participating in a session at the Prosumer 2020 Producing Consumers Conference held within the scope of the fair, Turk Prysmian Kablo Industrial Sales Director Mert Erden shared important information on the effect of correct cable usage on efficiency in solar power plants, which are on the rise in our country.

40 million meters of cable for solar projects

Türk Prysmian Kablo’s CEO Cinzia Farisè underlining that they are the partner of the important renewable energy projects in our country with their ‘Linking Turkey to the Future’ mission, said “In Turkey, as in all the world, renewable energy is gaining more importance every day. In line with our sustainability perspective, we especially focus on renewable energy products included in our industrial cables’ product range. The amount of cables we have supplied for solar energy projects so far has reached approximately 40 million meters. In other words, we supplied cable length that would circle the earth one round. This means approximately 7 million households’ electricity need for 1 month. We are also among the leading suppliers in the increasingly rising trend wind energy. In this area, the amount of cables we have supplied for important projects of our country meets the 1-month electricity need of 4.5 million households.”

Solar cables are most exposed to external influences

Making a presentation on correct cable usage at the Prosumer 2020 Producing Consumers Conference organized by EIF, Türk Prysmian Kablo Industrial Sales Director Mert Erden said, “It is very important for the solar (PV) cables used in a solar power plant and most exposed to external influences to comply with the relevant international standards, the conditions they should comply with and the selection criteria of the cables for the life and efficiency of the plant. Prysmian Group solar energy solutions have been preferred for many years and the after-use performance of these solutions is one step ahead of their competitors. We continue to develop innovative cable solutions to contribute to both the world and businesses.
